Son Shot by Father after altercation
A father shot his son Wednesday night after allegedly fighting with his girlfriend and then lunging at his father with a knife, according to police. The father claims that he shot his son in self-defense after his son tried to stab him with one of the knives in the kitchen. Deputies responded to calls reporting gun shots in the area of Whittier. According to officials, the son had gotten into an argument with his girlfriend when he armed himself with a knife threatening to kill her. His father then armed himself with a gun and pleaded for his son to put down the weapon. The son then became infuriated and attempted to stab his father for trying to get involved in the altercation. The father then allegedly fired his gun and shot his son in self-defense. The investigation is still ongoing and both the father and the son are considered suspects.
